Lydia's Introduction

I thought I'd follow Elizabeth's lead and introduce myself (even though y'all know me already - this is more for the benefit of present or future lurkers. ;) )

So, I'm Lydia. I've been blogging at The Nunnery for about four years now. I chose the title "The Nunnery" because I was looking for some peace and quiet. At the time, I had just ended a bad, albeit short-lived, relationship, I was unemployed, and I was still living at home with my parents, brothers, and my brother's girlfriend. As much as I loved my family, solitude was not an easily acquired commodity in that house. ;)

Originally I had intended to do more to tie the name of the blog in with it's content; maybe one of these days I'll get around to posting more nun-related content there.

Or maybe I'll do it here instead. We'll see. :)

Alright, I guess it's time to get some words on this blog and I'll start by just introducing myself.

I'm elizabeth thomas (alias sister agnes). I am an emergent sister as well as a college freshman, a member of the new jersey ghost hunters society and a *mother* to one orange tiger kitten named Aslan Jacob.

So what's up with Emergent Abbey?

We - the members of this fine convent are members of theOoze who at the suggestion of a blog for pomos, emergents, people who like nuns and various other types to diologue together got excited.

I have no idea what to expect out of this little endeavor of ours and I'm not sure if anyone else does either, but thats half the fun right?

If anyone feels compelled to elaborate, please do.

i promise this blog will be more than just pictures of nuns.

Pink, The New Black?

Is this what Emergent nuns look like?
